Love in the time of Covid-19

Fast forward to August 2020. Transit through Dubai is a very different experience. With two flights already cancelled, no idea of the next available date and all my family in Scotland, I grabbed a seat out of NZ as soon as I could. Most kiwis were moving in the opposite direction, keen to be in one of the safest countries in the world at this time. But my priorities had changed with air travel no longer available on demand. Airports were almost deserted, service a notch above non-existent, and carry on essentials a whole new set of kit. Hats off to the airline crews still working to deliver people to their final destinations - and to the planet that is breathing deep sighs of relief.

I know!

Eerily quiet at Dubai airport

This or this?

So what if it's 5 in the morning?

Passport and chocolate the only constants

So was it worth the trouble it took to get here? A hundred times yes, and here's one reason why.
